In 1786, two men stood where no human had stood before. Jacques Balmat, a crystal hunter, and Michel-Gabriel Paccard, a physician, reached the summit of Mont Blanc after climbing for hours through storm and snow with nothing more than rope, grit, and rudimentary gear. That moment didn't just conquer a peak. It opened a new frontier.
Mont Blanc became the birthplace of mountaineering. The mountain was no longer just a dangerous edge. It became a symbol of human curiosity, determination, and our changing
relationship with nature. From that first ascent came the idea that mountains weren’t only obstacles. They were stories to be lived.
That’s why we started here.
For Gorbea, Mont Blanc is not just a location. It’s a legacy. It’s where outdoor adventure became identity. But we didn’t want to only honor the past. We also wanted to celebrate the present.
Today, Mont Blanc still draws people in. Ultra runners cross its flanks in hours. Skiers descend lines that once seemed impossible. In our design, you’ll find a classic summit ridge with a roped team. But if you look again, you'll feel the presence of movement today.
Kilian Jornet carved a new path across these slopes. In 2013, he ran from Chamonix to the summit and back in 4 hours and 57 minutes. No rope, no pack, just heart and rhythm. In 2023, Hillary Gerardi set the women’s record in 7 hours and 25 minutes, moving fast and light through altitude and exposure.
Mont Blanc holds both kinds of story: the heavy footstep and the fast one.
Our design honors both. A clean line tracing a snow ridge. The silhouette of effort. Chamonix tucked below. A mountain that shaped a sport, and a sport that keeps shaping us.
This isn’t just a shirt. It’s a chapter. And it begins with the mountain that started it all
