About Gorbea

We make gear that connects you to the places you love.

Real art. Real places. Built to last.

Who We Are

Most outdoor gear looks the same. Big logos, loud colors, no story.

We wanted something different. Something with roots.

Gorbea began from a shared love of the outdoors and the belief that what we wear should carry meaning. We turn real landscapes into wearable art, created by real artists who know those places. Each design is part of a bigger story – of mountains climbed, trails explored, or coastlines remembered.

We take our name from Mount Gorbea in the Basque Country, a place of wind, stone, and legend. It reminds us to stay close to nature and to move with purpose.

What We Make

Gorbea founder Brenden Jongman on expedition in Svalbard.

Every Gorbea piece begins with a real place and the stories it holds — from the first explorers who mapped the unknown to the modern athletes who chase the fastest known time across those same ridges.

We design and build our own garments from the ground up, using premium Merino, Tencel, and organic cotton blends chosen for comfort, performance, and longevity. Every detail – fit, fabric, and feel – is tested for life outdoors, from mountain ridges to coastlines and city streets.

The artwork is not an addition. It is part of the design. Each line is drawn to live with the garment, to carry the character of a place and the spirit of movement.

The result is gear that feels natural, performs when it matters, and lasts. Not fast fashion. Not logo wear. Just honest, durable design made to move with you.

How We Work

We believe small is better.

We produce in limited runs with care and purpose. We choose natural fibers and work with partners who share our values.

And we give back: ten percent of profits support restoration projects in the same landscapes that inspire our designs.

Good design should leave the world better than it found it.

Art & Collaboration

Our designs are created directly with artists. For the Adventure Line, we work with illustrator Katarina Nord, whose detailed line work captures the character of each landscape.

Together we’re building an atlas of places. Drawn by hand. Inspired by real experience. Printed to last.

Sustainability Commitment

All Gorbea garments are produced in Europe, in small runs and with a focus on lasting quality. We prioritize natural, renewable materials like Merino wool, Tencel, and organic cotton for their performance and low environmental impact. Where we do use synthetic fibers, it’s always with purpose — to increase the durability and lifespan of the product, never as a shortcut. Every step in our supply chain is guided by responsibility: to people, to places, and to the planet. And 10% of all profits go toward restoration efforts in the very landscapes that inspire our designs.
